MASTERING THE ART OF STONE
Product Guide
Ultra-thin veneer stone from StoneLite Designs is a game-changer in the world of crafting materials. It's a unique product that offers the look and feel of natural stone but with properties that make it incredibly user-friendly for all sorts of creative projects. If you have worked with materials like wood, acrylic, plastic and more, you’ll find that StoneLite Stone is in a league of its own.
StoneLite Stone represents a significant departure from traditional materials commonly used in the laser industry. It is indeed real stone and remarkably thin. This laser-capable stone is renowned for its durability, fine grain, and the ability to be split into thin sheets. These unique characteristics make it an excellent choice for a wide range of high-precision applications, especially in laser technology.
StoneLite Stone comes in two types
StoneLite Stone comes in both a Hard-Backed version and a Fabric-Backed Flexible version. Each has advantages depending on what you want to use it for so choose the one best-suited to your projects. If you have any questions, drop us a line on Facebook or at info@stonelitedesigns.com .
Hard-Backed Stone
Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Compatible with most commercially available lasers, except our Golden and Silver colors, which are unsuitable for Diodes due to their thickness and mica content. Mica, a component in these particular stones, reflects the laser and requires greater power for effective cutting.
Features a rigid backer for enhanced stability.
Comes pre-sealed to provide UV protection.
Glue application advice: Due to the rough back surface, ensure the glue used can fill any voids as necessary.
We can offer suggestions for double-sided tape products that work on this version of the material.
Fabric-Backed Flexible Stone
Intended for interior use only.
Offers greater physical flexibility/bendability.
Has a smoother reverse surface, allowing for easier adhesive application.
Recommended adhesives: double-sided tape and 3M Spray Glue.
Not sealed, allowing for more finishing options. (See section on Sealers further down.)
Which lasers can be used?
1) Diodes 20W or better
2) C02
3) Fiber Lasers

What major laser brands has StoneLite Stone been tested on?
Trotec, Glowforge, Epilog, Thunder, Aeon
Can I cut StoneLite Stone with a Cricut or other desktop crafting machine?
Yes, BUT only FABRIC-BACKED FLEXIBLE. Please note there will be more blade wear than with other traditional Cricut material such as vinyl and paper.
What sealers do you recommend for StoneLite unsealed material?
StoneLite’s Fabric-Backed Flexible Stone comes unsealed to allow you to choose the best finish for your particular project. However, we do recommend that all stone should be sealed to protect it from staining and discoloration. It is recommended that a topical sealer be used for finishing. These sealers can be purchased at your local hardware or big box store. Sealers can provide three kinds of looks:
1) High Gloss
2) Color Enhanced
3) No change in appearance
